Weathers
This is the weather the cuckoo likes,
And so do I;
When showers betumble the chestnut spikes,
And nestlings fly;
And the little brown nightingale bills his best,
And they sit outside at 'The Traveller's Rest',
And maids come forth sprig-muslin drest,
And citizens dream of the south and west,
And so do I.
This is the weather the shepherd shuns,
And so do I;
When beeches drip in browns and duns,
And thresh and ply;
And hill-hid tides throb, throe on throe,
And meadow rivulets overflow,
And drops on gate bars hang in a row,
And rooks in families homeward go,
And so do I.
— Thomas Hardy

Pratap Malla was one of the most famous kings of Malla Dynasty. He constructed some magnificent and beautiful architectural structure around Kathmandu. The way he came to the throne is very interesting and controversial at the same time. He had the experience of administration even when his father was alive. When his father Laxmi Nara Singh’s madness grew worse, he imprisoned his father and he himself ruled as a regent of his father in Kantipur.
He was an able administrator. Kantipur was highly developed during his reign. Trade with Lhasa (Tibet) was also going on well. By his tact he was making the kings of Lalitpur and Bhaktapur play against each other. Sometimes he sided with Bhaktapur and posed a threat to Lalitpur. On other occasions, he aligned with Lalitpur and fell upon Bhaktapur. Pratap Malla was religious minded person. He built a beautiful temple at Guhyeshwari and fenced it. He renovated the temple of Pashupatinath and raised a pinnacle over it. At Swayambhu he built Pratappur, Kachhendrapur and many other temples and also set up a copper gilt ‘Bajra’. He also renovated the temples and Basuki Bhimsen, Taleju and Degutale. With a view to warding off evils, he erected an image of Hanuman, the monkey god, by the side of his palace gate and called the palace Hanumandhoka. He erected the golden gate of the palace, set up an image of Nri Simha, Kal Bhairab and Vishwaroop at Layaku Bahi. Inside the palace, he also set up Sundari Chowk and Mohan Chowk. A pond was dug at Bhandarkhal and filled with water brought from Budhanilakantha. He installed an image of Narayan lying in the pond, an exact replica from Budhanilakantha Temple.

Health experts get tough on school lunches
It’s lunchtime at Hall Memorial School in Connecticut, and 10 year old Haley is making her way through the food line. Many of her friends are thrilled with the day’s lunch selections: pizza and French fries and hot dogs. But Haley feels discouraged. “I use four or five napkins just trying to get the grease off the pizza,” she says. “Where are the healthy options?”
Health experts are asking the same question. They say foods high in fat, salt and sugar should be banned from school lunch programs. This includes some items you might not suspect, like fruit punch, which is loaded with sugar, and macaroni and cheese, which is sky-high in fat and salt. “Children are already consuming too much junk food,” says Jen Keller, a dietitian at the Physician’s Committee for Responsible Medicine. “It’s important to offer them only healthy items in school.”
It’s not that health experts want to deprive kids of foods they like best. They just want to help kids avoid many of the health problems that come with eating large quantities of unhealthful food. Today, 15 percent of children ages 6 to 11 are obese or seriously overweight. That’s up from just 6.5 percent in the late 1970s. Poor diet and obesity can cause diseases like type – 2 diabetes, which can lead to blindness and kidney problems. As of a few years ago, this disease was so rare in children that it was called “adult onset diabetes.” “Many foods that are offered in cafeterias are linked to these problems,” Keller says.
Most schools do offer some healthful foods, but experts say that doesn’t solve the problem. “Given a choice, most kids are going to choose junk over something healthy,” says Pat Thorton, a psychologist who studies obesity in children. Thorton and other experts agree that schools and parents need to educate kids about making good food choices, both in and out of school.

7. People in Our Society Tend to Spend Money Beyond Their Capacity for Show Off in the Name of Festivals and Celebrations. Write Two Paragraphs in about 150 words Expressing Your Views on the Issue.
Festivals and celebrations are meant to bring happiness, strengthen relationships, and honor traditions. However, in today’s world, many people spend beyond their financial capacity just to show off their wealth and status. Whether it’s Dashain, Tihar, Holi, Maghe Sankranti, or Teej, people often buy expensive clothes, decorate their homes lavishly, and host grand parties. Many even take loans or use family money without thinking about the consequences. This unnecessary spending puts financial pressure on individuals and families. Instead of enjoying the moment, they end up struggling with debt and stress after the celebrations are over.
True celebrations are not about spending money to impress others; they are about love, togetherness, and cultural values. People should focus on meaningful ways to celebrate rather than competing with others. Small and thoughtful gatherings can be just as joyful as large, extravagant ones. Community leaders should raise awareness about responsible spending, and families should teach children the importance of financial discipline. If people learn to celebrate within their means, they will enjoy festivals without financial burdens. Happiness does not come from overspending—it comes from being with loved ones and cherishing special moments together.
8. Write a review of a book that you have recently read in about 200 worrds. Include book details/main plot, your analysis (strength and weaknesses) and recommendation
Firfire
Title: Firfire
Author: BuddhiSagar
Publish Year: 2016 AD
Genre: Novel, Fiction
Language: Nepali
Original title : फिरफिरे
Pages: 544 pg
This book is the second novel by the well-known Nepali writer, Buddhi Sagar Chapain. His first book, "Karnali Blues," was a big hit, and I loved it. Buddhi Sagar is famous for his storytelling style, which keeps readers engaged. "PhirPhire" got a lot of attention before its release because of his reputation.
The story of "PhirPhire" begins with the ending, with the narrator looking back on his past. It's about two ordinary boys, Pawan and Basanta, and their simple friendship. The plot revolves around Basanta's visit to his village after 15 years and the memories he revisits. One day, Basanta hears that his house in the village is about to be demolished. Overwhelmed with nostalgia, he goes back to his village to see the house one last time after 16 long years. And then begins a journey to his past-a past that he has always wanted to forget. And thus unfolds the story of his friendship with Pawan, who falls prey to village politics and superstitions, losing his memory in the process. This story is multilayered with the stories of the loving Jethiaama, the snake killer Chilgadi, the goon Rocky Dada, the village shaman Kohinoor-all colorful characters who delight and surprise readers in equal measure. Written in a sweet, flowing language, Firfire brings back the kaleidoscopic memories of our individual pasts.
Throughout the book, we meet many colorful characters like Juthiaama, the snake killer, and Chilgadi, the stumble bum. Each character has a unique story that adds depth to the narrative. The bond between Pawan and Basanta, despite their differences and struggles, is heartwarming. The book made me laugh, cry, and feel a range of emotions.
Despite some errors, the book's compelling story and simple language make it a must-read for Nepali fiction fans. It's a journey back to our own memories and experiences, making it a deeply relatable and enjoyable read.
